PEMF: An Effective Healing Modality for Alternative Medicine Clinics

pemf

Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF) is a natural fit for alternative medicine clinics that want to offer patients the best and most well-rounded options for holistic care.

PEMF is an effective healing modality proven by years of medical research and patient outcomes around the globe. It’s non-invasive, drug-free and simple to administer in any alternative medicine clinic. Best of all, PEMF delivers a wide range of benefits for patients with different medical ailments and objectives.

In this post, we explore 3 reasons why clinics are increasingly adding PEMF therapy to their services.

1) A holistic approach

One of the top reasons why patients choose alternative and integrated medicine clinics is that they want to avoid conventional treatment paths, especially those involving dangerous prescription drugs or invasive procedures. Or, in many cases, patients have already tried those traditional paths but did not get the relief or results that they wanted.

PEMF is a holistic healing modality that aligns with the other alternative treatment options that these clinics offer. Patients choose PEMF because it offers an effective alternative (or supplement) to traditional medicines, administered via simple, comfortable, pain-free sessions typically lasting only 30 minutes.

2) The effectiveness of cellular stimulation

PEMF therapy uses low-level magnetic energy to gently stimulate cellular activity in the body. This cellular stimulation can have a profound effect on the body’s healing systems, helping to fend off illness, eliminate pain and deliver a host of medical benefits.

In the body, when cells are damaged or dysfunctional, this can lead to a wide range of medical issues. Pulsed magnetic energy helps to restore cellular activity to its normal state, which in turn promotes wellness in a number of ways, as we address in the next section.

3) Medical benefits backed by extensive research

PEMF therapy has been extensively researched over several decades, and studies continue to identify it as a highly effective and safe healing modality for patients experiencing numerous medical ailments, including:

Researchers and physicians across numerous medical fields have touted the effectiveness of PEMF therapy. In one clinical trial, Dr. Michael Shen, a cardiologist at the Cleveland Clinic, concluded: “In my experience, clearly, PEMF has significant potential to change clinical cardiology. This technology can provide new hope to patients with angina and ischemic cardiomyopathy who, otherwise, have no further option from current standard care.”

Researchers studying the effects of PEMF on depression found it to be “an effective treatment for those unable to benefit from initial antidepressant medication.” (Note this study specifically evaluated a magnetic-field technology known as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), which is similar to PEMF, though PEMF fields are much lower.) The study included 307 patients diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and who were experiencing persistent symptoms that weren’t improved by traditional antidepressant medications.
